We build and track your pipeline of qualified opportunities for you, with full visibility of every account from first assessment to qualified conversation.
A count of activity says little about whether the right buyer engaged, whether your market can sustain more than one round, or which accounts were ever in market.
01The challenge
Activity counted as progress
Approaches, replies and booked meetings are inputs, with no proof the right person engaged.
A problem of measurement
How we address it
Coverage counted through to the qualified opportunity, not activity.
Every prospective counterparty is measured against the target profile written with you, and every response is assessed against the same three checks, in the same order. The standard holds for the life of the mandate.
An example profile from one mandate: middle-market private equity firms with $500MM to $2B in assets under management, the managing partner as the decision-maker and co-investment or LP mandates. Each dimension is graded ideal, acceptable or out of scope.
Accounts assessed, mapped and engaged, and opportunities qualified, are reported at the same stages each quarter. One quarter reads directly against the last.
As emphasis shifts toward the segments producing qualified demand, the figures move with it. Segments, messaging, channels and cadence are adjusted each quarter.
Beside coverage, you see each qualified opportunity and warm introduction as it moves. Each shows the steps engaged and the next step it is waiting on.
Coverage is aligned with your sales cycles and sits outside your internal processes. Your referrals, warm networks and partnerships continue unchanged.
Questions on coverage.
Are these figures a forecast for our mandate?
No. They describe one representative mandate and are a record of work already done, not a running total. Volumes differ with your market and your target profile.
When does coverage begin to show?
In the example engagement, earlier sight of who is in market arrives in weeks three to four, and qualified opportunities reach your team from month two. Timings vary by mandate.
What reaches our team?
Qualified opportunities, each with a defined next step such as a meeting or an intro call. Your team steps in only when an opportunity has qualified against your ideal buyer profile.
Why do so few accounts reach the qualified stage?
Because every account is measured against the target profile before any approach, and every response is assessed before it reaches you. Low-quality volume is kept out of the pipeline at each stage.
